Xcellent Season has begun2 min read

Out rapper Andre Xcellence returns to the dance floor with “I’m Coming,” his highly charged club-banging EP of truly Xcellent music that he calls the soundtrack of his life.

Being released in partnership with Priority Records Capitol UMG (the label behind NWA and Jay-Z’s “Reasonable Doubt”), the EP is a masterfully produced, lyrically enticing record that mixes multiple genres for a helluva good party.

It starts with “Go Wild”, a reimagined cover of Violent Femmes’ “Blister in the Sun” that will have the west coast surfer kids jumpin’.  The next track, “So What?”, will be a favorite on gay dance floors.  It’s a celebratory anthem that reminds clubbers to check their politics and prejudices at the door and encourages gays and straights to unite on the dance floor.

“Holy Ghost” offers a frantic medley of high energy mash-ups.  Then there’s “Off The Drank”, a dark ode to party girls that don’t know when to call it a night.  It’s a hot collaboration between Xcellence and emerging superstar Tito JustMusic.

The EP wraps with “Where Are You,” a lush, pop smash that features another rising pop sensation, August.

The EP marks the introduction  of  Andre Xcellence as a Priority Records Capitol UMG artist and its message is crystal clear: Xcellent Season has begun

According to the artist, the EP is also meant as a prelude to his next exciting release.  He’s keep the exact details under wrap for now, however, he did release this hint on Friday:

Yes, alongside Xcellence is fashion and entertainment mogul, Blac Chyna.  In press interviews, Xcellence has let it slip “how positive and truly brilliant and amazing she is” to work with.

Keep Christmas With You!

“I see myself as an innovator like Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Elton John, and James Brown,” says  Andre Xcellence from his home in Los Angeles.

His name, given to him by his fraternity brothers, is a nod to his never ceasing strive for perfection and his life’s motto: always strive for Xcellence and have fun doing it.

“I aim to be the voice of the voiceless with positive, inclusive music.”

That includes the gay and trans communities, as well as other subsets that have traditionally been shunned by mainstream hip hop.
