New life was breathed into New York City’s Queen of Night this weekend at One Night Only, a special live music event that brought New Yorkers under the starlit ceiling of the majestic Sony Hall.
The historic venue hosted a magical night filled with high-energy music, endless dancing, and stunning costumes; all of which were headlined with a spectacular performance by the legendary Kimberly Davis.
Davis, lead vocalist for the Grammy-winning disco group CHIC, swept the stage and commandeered the crowd with a full set, banging out all her classic hits from “Le Chic” to “We Are Family”, and her latest Billboard #1s “Fire” and “You’re Good for Me”, produced by Grammy-nominated Tony Moran.
“I was honored to perform at Sony Hall,” says Davis. “The vibe and energy in the room was electric and the love from the LBGTQ community was everything! Special thanks to Jake Resnicow for inviting me and DJ Dan Slater for keeping the energy high.”
Guests were encouraged to dress fashionably, and many came wearing the part, including long, glittering eyelashes, tall wigs and bejeweled pieces. They eagerly posed for photos in the picturesque halls of the venue. And then there was Sydney’s DJ Dan Slater, who was as great to watch on the stage as he is to dance to, busting moves as he carried the electrified crowd through the night.
“We’re always looking to create new experiences and we’re thrilled to collaborate with one of the best venues in the country,” says event producer Jake Resnicow.
One Night Only proved that New York City’s Sony Hall reigns supreme. There is much to look forward in this new and exciting collaboration.
