LGBT volunteers to receive New York pride party passes through Pride with a Purpose

It’s no secret that Pride parties, like everything else in New York City, come at a premium. Instead of paying, you can get pride party passes by volunteering.

Party producer Jake Resnicow wants to reward LGBT volunteers for their service during pride month—with pride party passes to his events. The program is called, “Pride with a Purpose.”

“The Pulse Nightclub shooting was a wake up call,” Jake says. “It challenged us to consider how we can help make this world a safer place for the community.”

How to get a free pass to Pride parties

To get the free pride party pass to  all events that Resnicow is producing, revelers participating in Pride with a Purpose need to volunteer at any recognized LGBT charity for a cumulative eight hours.

LGBT charities include the Ali Forney Center—the world’s largest agency that supports homeless LGBTQ youth. They serve over 150,000 meals annually, providing youth with three nutritious meals per day.

Another great LGBT cause is The Trevor Project, an organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ teens and young adults. They are actively seeking volunteers for their TrevorLIVE event next Monday, June 19th.

Once a volunteer has completed their eight hours, they may email documented proof to charity@matineenyc.com.

Which pride parties are included in Pride with a Purpose?

Eligible volunteers can choose between the Ultra VIP Weekend Pass (includes admittance to Matinée, M.E.A.T. and Luvboat parties) or the Millennial Pass (includes admittance to Penthaus, U-Nite and Luvboat parties).
