Organizers of one of the world’s largest pride gatherings expected crowds in the millions for São Paulo Pride on Sunday June 18, 2017. Although no official figure has yet to be released, these photos show how packed and massive the gathering was.

The city’s 21st pride march was a demonstration against religion controlling laws and lives. The motto of the parade this year was “whatever our beliefs, no religion is law,” according to the event organizers.

“Our main enemies today are religious fundamentalists,” said the Parade organizer Claudia Regina on the Parades official Facebook page.
