NYC is in for a Rough Columbus Day Weekend
We have a feeling you’ll be calling out sick on Monday 😉
Get ready, men of NYC you’re in for a rough Columbus Day weekend. Gay NYC nightlife has been starved for venues and producers are taking notice. Rough Trade, produced by nightlife impresario Brian Rafferty, is answering the demands of the scene and tickets have already been selling like mad.
The yet-to-be-named venue holds 600+ men—think two Cielos stacked one on top of another. Not only that, but it also has two dance-floors AND is sprinkled with private lounge areas for getting to know someone that much better. We’re impressed.
“Rough Trade is going to be a bigger, darker, underground version of Trade in an unexpected above-ground venue that will merge two different worlds of music,” Brian Rafferty told OutBuzz.
The party smartly starts at 8:00pm so those who don’t have Columbus Day off (who does?) can start early and still make it to the office—but we have a feeling you’ll want to pull a sickie on Monday. DJ’s Dan Darlington and Dani Toro will serve the guys sexy beats. The promoters are teasing us with performance pieces and installations that’ll seduce the guys to stay out ’till dawn.
Brian wouldn’t tell us the exact location, but he did say that it’s between Hell’s Kitchen and Chelsea in Midtown West and that Rough Trade would be the first gay party held at this venue.
We can’t wait!
