Anti-Gay politician Mike Pence was not a welcome face at Hamilton. He was greeted with boos from the crowd. After the performance the cast pleaded for the politician to be good to all Americans.
Last night, Nov. 18th 2016, when Mike Pence entered the Richard Rodgers Theater, the crowd loudly booed him as he took his seat. Although some theater-goers were heard applauding him, they were probably tourists from outside of New York, as most large broadway audiences are.
“We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights.

After the Hamilton performance concluded, the cast addressed him directly. Brandon Victor Dixon said:
Vice President Elect Pence, welcome. Thank you for joining us at Hamilton-An American Musical. We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights. We hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values, and work on behalf of all of us.

Mike Pence is an anti-gay politician who advocates conversion therapy.
The anti-gay conservative politician rallied against same-sex marriage, advocates for conversion therapy, and inadvertantly caused an HIV outbreak in Indiana. He is vocal against gay rights and said on his campaign website from 2000, “Congress should oppose any effort to recognize homosexual’s [sic] as a ‘discreet and insular minority” entitled to the protection of anti-discrimination laws similar to those extended to women and ethnic minorities.”
