Man Found Dead Inside Chicago Bath House—GHB Involved1 min read

A man was found dead inside Steamworks Bathhouse in Boystown Chicago

Cops arrived on scene to aid an unresponsive man around 5:10am this morning, according to Chicago police spokesman Jose Estrada. The 31-year-old man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police are still conducting an investigation into the death of the man, but evidence of GHB drug use was found, according to sources.

GHB is commonly used among many gay men

GHB is a commonly used party drug or “alcohol alternative” among many gay men. It is used to increase sex drive, lower inhibitions and get a sense of euphoria. The drug is extremely fatal when taken in larger than recommended doses, which need to be measured accurately and timed appropriately. Many gay men “fall out” from the drug at parties or sex clubs requiring medical attention. Overdoses from GHB have become alarmingly common.

This is the second time this year that a man was found dead at the Steamworks Baths.  On January 23, a 36-year-old man was found dead in the bath house’s jacuzzi and sauna area—it is not confirmed if this death was drug related.
