Thousands of gay men from New York, Atlanta and even Chicago will be trekking to the nation’s capital this Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend.  No, not to get fashion tips from Melania.  Oh puhlease, honey.  They’re heading to the annual Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend taking place Jan 18 – 20.

MAL  celebrates everything fetish with dark rooms, human puppy parks, and exhibitor booths showcasing S&M gear and toys.  “It’s a fun weekend for everyone in the fetish community as well as for curious spectators,” explains local gay party producer Q, aka Mother Fantasy.  He will help to open the weekend with Friday night’s  “Sex Shop Party” at L8DC. “MAL creates an environment where everyone can be themselves without judgement.”

The devilishly handsome Q understands a thing or two about living life as his authentic self. The 34-year old veteran served in Iraq and Afghanistan before making a name for himself in DC’s nightlife scene.  He says he discovered his love for the dance floor while attending circuit festivals around the world.

“I started hosting private soirees in my penthouse and then invite-only after parties throughout the city.”

His themed-events incorporate everything from dancing Chinese dragons to electric body suits and exotic entertainers.

“It’s all about creating a magical experience with exciting surprises that turn up the wow-factor and leave revelers craving for more.  I love encouraging people to get creative and let their inhibitions go.”

The “Sex Shop Party” promises to be Q’s biggest and most outrageous event yet. It will feature performances from leather and rubber men, gear-heads and kinksters, as well as music by international DJ phenomenon Alex Acosta, NYC’s Joe Pacheco and local DJ X Gonzalez. “It will be a fantastic night of debauchery where we all get to explore our darkest fantasies,” Q promises.
