In the spirit of giving, New York City premiere nightlife promoters Jake Resnicow, John Blair, Alan Picus and Joe Roszak hosted, CHIC, a charity event to benefit a gay non-profit. The party-cum-charity event was held last night at the legendary venue “Cutting Room” with music by DJ Paulo.
The gay nightlife producers raised more than $5,000 for Lambda Legal. The non-profit protects and advances the rights of LGBT people and those living with HIV through impact litigation and public policy work.
“It’s important to give back to our community” said Jake Resnicow, “We are grateful to the Cutting Room for welcoming us with open arms and making this possible.”
Resnicow has made a name for himself through philanthropy. He created “Pride with a Purpose”, which calls upon LGBTQ to volunteer for charitable causes, in exchange for free passes to his Pride events. In addition he has produced the annual after-parties for Trevor Project’s TrevorLive and LifeBall.
“We are very grateful for your support,” said Ishman Rahman of Lambda Legal, “You help us to continue fighting for full equality for LGBT persons and everyone living with HIV, and your support is essential to our success!”
