3 Dollar Bill to host special dance event fundraiser with DJ Anne Louise for Australia wildfire relief.
Brazilian superstar Anne Louise arrives at New York’s iconic LGBT destination 3 Dollar Bill on Saturday, January 18th for the special event M.E.A.T. to support Australia Wildfire Relief efforts.
“I am always involved in charity work around my country Brazil. We are all citizens of this world and I am delighted to be a part of this charity event,” says Anne Louise. “The whole world has eyes on the Australian Bush Fires, it is a sad and unfortunate situation which has never been seen before, not even in The Amazons which was also impacted a couple of months ago. I feel honoured to be chosen to play in this charity event for the NSW Rural Fire Service. We have to fight this tragedy as one world! Australia can’t be left alone in this fight.”
NSW RFS chief Shane Fitzsimmons says donations will support bushfire victims and conditions for volunteer firefighters.
3 Dollar Bill is the largest queer-owned and operated nightclub in New York. The 10,000-square-foot space features a raw concert hall with 50-foot ceilings, disco lights and a triangular stage, owned by Brenda Breathnach.
“The wildfires in Australia have brought so much sadness to the people and animals affected. The photos say more than anything,” says Breathnach, who will be making an additional donation. “As much fun as we have every night, we want the community to know that we try to be a good neighbor in the day too. Our hearts really go out to those suffering.”
The event is produced in collaboration with super-producer Jake Resnicow, who recently raised over $500,000 during the record-breaking WorldPride celebration at the Javits Center for LifeBeat, GLADD, Stonewall Gives Back Initiative and Trevor Project.
